What the HECK?!

Happy 2011 Everyone!  It’s only been 3 days and already this year is showing some promise for an interesting remaining 362.

When I woke up this morning I looked out the window and the scenery didn’t match the location.  The room was my home in Las Vegas, but out the window it was definitely Michigan.  Snow fell softly to the ground and as I peered further out my window I realized it was indeed landing on the brown and grey landscape of Nevada.

While stumbling in a confused manner towards the shower my phone buzzed in a way that was dedicated to Mashable updates.  Mr. Cashmore informed me that Facebook just gathered $500 million dollars in fundraising, was now worth $50 billion dollars and was planning to release an IPO (go public) in 18 months.

Still reeling over how much Facebook was apparently worth I turned on my second source for worldly news, BBC.com, and found yet another reason for my mouth to drop.  Arkansas was experiencing a new year’s omen with about 5,000 Red-winged blackbirds dropping dead out of the sky and 100,000 drum fish washing up on the shoreline.  Scientists and experts still only have a potential cause for both events.

Let’s hope the rest of the year stays this interesting!

Until next time buyers, sellers and friends!
