I’d like to thank the Academy…

I’ve realized that over time dreams are more often adjusted then forgotten.  For example, when I was younger I had dreams of walking across the Kodak Theater stage to accept my Oscar and gleefully yell the commonly misquoted Sally field saying, “You like me, right now, you like me”.

This dream still persists just in a different setting as I highly doubt the Academy of Motion Picture of Arts and Science will award me for my role as the ‘naked Towel Boy’ in Cherry or the party-goer teaching the pregnant teenager how to play drinking games in The Lake Effect.  In fact the setting has gotten a little closer to home as accepting Mashable Award for anything is my new goal and they are being hosted at the New York New York Hotel in Las Vegas this year.

A Mashable, or Open Web, Award is an on-line international competition, which has a publicly opened nomination process where winners are purely chosen by ‘people’s choice’.  The categories range from Must-Follow Personality to Best Mobile User Experience to Best Web Video.  The ones I am the most interested in personally are Most Promising New Company and Must-Follow Personality, but those are a long ways away.

If you do feel motivated to do so, feel free to nominate the LasVegasIntern as Must-Follow Personality at www.mashable.com/awards/votes/add, if nothing else it’d be a start at next year’s awards!

Until next time buyers, sellers and friends!
