A Type of Balance

I began a new type of social media outreach this afternoon and I can already tell it’s going to be an interesting endeavor.  I have begun a video blog (vlog) that will be posted on the Pricefalls.com Youtube page (www.youtube/pricefalls.com).  I find myself looking in the mirror to fix my hair, straightening up my shirt, and even (having flashbacks to musical theatre) wondering if I need foundation to cover a shiny forehead.  After a moment of debate with the more theatrical Josh, I decided to just go out onto the porch and begin talking.  A few takes later I was satisfied with a good intro to what Pricefalls is and also sliding in some information on our latest Xbox promotion.

As an aside, our xbox promotion (that can be found at http://bit.ly/pfallsxbox) which also stars Youtube personality Nixie Pixel is coming to a close this Sunday!  Get your entries in and get picked to win an XBOX Slim!

The above is one tactic in which to drive traffic towards a website that can be fed through the social media tubes into the searching hungry bellies of consumers.  This form of advertising is specifically used in order to boost the quality of users passing through the Pricefalls.com platform in hopes they will continue shopping once on the site.  This type of advertising can’t sustain any brand, store or website solely on its own but it is extremely important.  Quantity traffic must have quality users in tow.  It matters little if 20,000 people took at your product if none of them are prompted by another force to stay and shop.

Advertising done to establish quality traffic can come in a few forms.  One of these approaches is adding a personal touch to your communication to help the users feel included and, in a way, a part of the company.  Another way to drive quality focused advertising is to use social media to judge and predict trending items which can be on the ready to dispense to those following the trend.  This establishes a connection between having the best and more update product with the company; making it the first place those trenders will turn for the next ‘hot’ item.

At Pricefalls.com I, along with the marketing team, are working on both quality and quantity traffic approaches and are constantly changing our approaches in order to find the most effective advertising tools.  In the previous post MKW3 made a very valid point in saying that in order to reach a variety of target publics there needs to be a variety in advertising.

Until next time buyers, sellers and friends!
